Will there be more content?

Yes, we are continuously adding new content to Joost. You may have seen some recent announcements about new deals with major content owners – expect more of these in the near future.

Can I upload my own videos?

Not at the moment. Right now, we're concentrating on high-quality TV content from well-known TV brands, so that we can provide entertainment to the widest possible audience. Future versions of Joost may allow you to upload your own material, but we have no immediate plans for this.

I have good-quality TV content which I'd like to contribute to Joost.

If you think you have material that meets our standards for widely distributed content, please contact our content team.

How does advertising work on Joost?

Advertising on Joost does two things. First, it ensures that content creators and video artists on Joost can make money and thus make more great content for us all to enjoy. Second, it allows you to use and enjoy Joost for free. You can't skip the ads, but you'll see a lot less of them than on television, and we'll try to make them relevant and interesting to you individually.

Why am I not able to view certain TV shows based on my location?

While some TV shows are available worldwide, others are limited by geographic copyright restrictions. For example, if a content owner only has the right to distribute a TV show in the United States, Joost will ensure that only viewers located in the United States can watch that TV show.

I was able to watch a TV show previously, but now I can't access it. What happened?

The most likely scenario is that the geographic restrictions for the program's copyright have changed, making the content owner Joost has partnered with unable to distribute in your country. If you believe that a technical issue is preventing you from viewing content, please contact us, and be sure to list the TV show in question and your country of origin.

How does Joost know where I am located?

Joost determines the general location of viewers by identifying their Internet Protocol (IP) address, which computers use in order to identify and communicate with each other the Internet. Viewers can choose to tell us the country they are located in, but are not required to provide their physical address. In accordance with our privacy policy, Joost only collects personal information that we believe will improve our ability to offer this service to you.
