Quality Assurance Engineer
Our Quality Assurance Team is looking for dedicated team members for our QA Team in Leiden, Netherlands and in New York, USA.
Job Description
As a Quality Assurance Engineer your role is to install and configure software and hardware test environments for web applications and standalone client and server-side applications within the company. You will be supporting financial reporting systems; advertising platforms; content management; core back-end, video quality and client teams You are responsible for verifying correct operation of software by writing test plans and test scripts and designing and programming automated tests. You will work close with development engineers in design and code reviews.
Experience
We are looking for all levels of experience; junior, senior and leads
Responsibilities:
Day to day issue handling
Issues range from very technical to more administrative in nature
Issues are logged and handled based on ITIL best practices (incidents and problems)
Assist with the creation of new documentation
Update standard mails, documentation, and solutions based on feedback from users and customers
Work with the engineering organization by reporting bugs and steps to reproduce
Have direct contact with content owners from locations all over the world including, the United Stated, the United Kingdom, and China
Job Requirements
B.S. or M.S. Computer Science, IT, engineering, or a similar field of study
Strong analytical, organizational, and technical skills
Self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to create challenging but realistic schedules and meet them.
Ability and aptitude to learn new technologies and concepts
Knowledge of QA testing methodologies with experience in the software product life cycle from development to release
Experience with one or more programming, scripting, web languages such as C/C++, HTML, Java, J2EE, and XML
Excellent working knowledge with various software systems
Experience with Windows and/or Mac OS X and/or Unix
Experience with different browsers and chat applications
Knowledge of bug tracking and ticketing systems
Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
Good written and spoken knowledge of English
