Joost Forums Going Down
Some of you might have heard that we’re developing a web-based version of Joost. Well, it’s coming and we’re excited about it – and we’re working really hard to build a great platform for video entertainment.
But there’s an unfortunate side effect, and that is that we are going to have to take down our forums while we’re getting the new site up. As a result, the forums will go down on June 20.*
We’ve set up a Google Group that we’d encourage you to visit if you have any questions about Joost or you want to participate in the community conversation – and we’re going to monitor and participate in these conversations. In addition to answering your support questions, we'll also provide information about new shows and developments.
Please bookmark it and check it out here.
You can also email support@joost.com if you’re having any trouble.
Thanks for your patience. We look forward to seeing you on the new Google Group Joost Forums.
*Not the date when we’ll introduce the web-based version of Joost, by the way.

Every new version of Joost is "heavier" than the old version!! You should do something about it!
I have a 1.4 GHz computer with 512 RAM and everytime I try to watch Joost it crashes!
You should know that NOT everybody has a super duper dual core, 2048 RAM, Vista computer!
So, do something or at least make the web based version lighter.
Thank you

Yikes - loads of comments!
First of all, sorry for the delay - our blog comments get riddled with spam, so this becomes a bit of a manual process.
I've asked my colleagues in support to look at a lot of these comments because some of them get quite technical - more technical than I am, certainly. So if you do not see a response to your question below, I'd encourage you to email support@joost.com, visit the Joost Forum Google Group or check back here in the coming days for a response.
But there are some that I'm perfectly qualified to answer. So here goes:
@Judah: are there specific shows you're looking for?
@mor, eric and lama: check out this link - http://www.joost.com/support/faq/General-questions.html#How-do-I-start-using-joost. In a nutshell, once you've installed Joost and are logging in for the first time, there is a button in the lower left-hand corner of the login box that will let you sign up for a Joost name.
@Maciek: we're taking you off the list.
@Derek Brazil: try this link - http://www.joost.com/forgot.html?username=
@Eileen Mitchell: From time to time, the content on Joost changes. The two most common reasons for this are that (1) the content owner's rights to distribute a particular show have expired or (2) the content owner has decided to change their lineup of shows on Joost. Sorry for not explaining this earlier.
@Marijus and bill: thanks!
@mtucson: hmm...we don't have Eastenders on Joost but a Google search might put you on the right track...
@Ilana Souza: you might need to try a different name, but I'm asking the support team to check into this.
@koko: thanks...we're incorporating a lot of our loyal Joost users' feedback into the web version.

hi no offence but being in another country and not being able to acess shows primarily all of them bites,i understand of the geographic copyright laws,but it still sucks,to wave the shows under our nose that we grew up with and loved,and not have acess,one day the shoe may be on the other foot.

Somethings should really be done about the volume of commercials, it's extremely annoying having to manually turn down the volume when commercials come on and turn the volume back up when the show restarts due to the absurd variance in levels.

Once I install Joost, a window pops up that says," An error occurred! Oh no! Looks like your graphics driver doesn't support Direct 3D. To watch joost you'll need to enable hardware acceleration on your system. "
I have Windows XP with Service Pack 2. Is there some easy steps to take to get joost working or do I need to upgrade my hardware?
Thanks

Last time I tried to use Joost 1.1.4 and it was working ok for a few mins, but it caused my pc to restart. I don't know what is up with that. It only happens when I am running this prog so I see no other options as to what it could be. Has anybody else had to deal with this and what can I do to fix it?

"this show can not be viewed in your country"
THAT SUCKS! As all other stupid restrictions based on location, nationality, country development, income or lousy local copyright and marketing sh!t. Thats the whole idea of internet TV to have access to some extra stuff other than you normally have on a traditional telly.
