WELCOME BACK, KOTTER is a half-hour comedy series set in the Bensonhurst district of Brooklyn. It revolves around a young school teacher and his high school class, "The Special Guidance Remedial Academics Group" -- more commonly known as the Sweathogs.

Comedian, (GABE KAPLAN) portrays school teacher, Gabe Kotter, who, for his very first job, is assigned to the high school from which he graduated - and to top it off, draws for his class the 1975 equivalent of the same impossible group of students of which he was a part 10 years before.

Under prodding from his wife, played by (MARCIA STRASSMAN), Gabe accepts the job--he really has very little choice--and is determined to make the best of it.

His old principal, Mr. Woodman, played by (JOHN SYLVESTER WHITE), is still there. He remembers Kotter well, but not fondly, he wants no trouble from the Board of Education, so Kotter has a job.

His class is anything but the answer to a teacher's prayers. Peopled entirely by embryonic mafia members, the Sweathogs are played by (JOHN TRAVOLTA, ROBERT HEGYES, LAWRENCE-HILTON JACOBS, RON PALILLO).
