Time Trax - Part 1. It is the year 2193 A.D. The average man is physically superior to his ancestors and lives for about 120 years. A few men have mastered "time stalling." With this technique, they can perceive real time as if it were slowed down to resemble a movie shown in slow motion.\n\nOne such man is Darien Lambert (DALE MIDKIFF), who is a type of police officer called a "fugitive retrieval specialist." A few years ago, routine trackdowns that resulted in the easy capture of fugitives began ending with the fugitives disappearing mysteriously after capture. Darien is bewildered by this. His Chief (HENRY DARROW) gives him the chance to investigate.\n\n \n\nDarien is promoted to Captain and given a tiny, highly advanced computer named "Selma" (ELIZABETH ALEXANDER). Selma is programmed with a personality and can even project a holographic image of herself, but only when Darien is alone. However, unless she is put on "battery recharge," she is always watching Darien and can speak to him without her image appearing.\n\nMeanwhile, Sepp Dietrich (HENK JOHANNES), a political assassin, steals the historical pistol that killed Abraham Lincoln. Darien is sent to apprehend Dietrich. Unfortunately, Dietrich uses this same pistol to kill the President of the United Nations just before Darien captures him. Darien places Dietrich in a maximum security cell, but Dietrich vanishes mysteriously.\n\nDarien concludes that all the disappearances of criminals happen through time travel. Elissa Knox (MIA SARA), a beautiful young woman who works for Mordicai Sahmbi (PETER DONAT), comes to see him. Sahmbi is a brilliant scientist who has experimented with time travel. Elissa is suspicious that Sahmbi may be responsible for the disappearances. \n\nDarien and Elissa quickly become lovers. With Elissa's help, Darien sets a trap for Sahmbi. In Sahmbi's final attempt to escape into the past, he kills Elissa. Sahmbi succeeds in escaping and Darien chooses to chase him back to 1993. Since only two time travel trips, into the past and back, are safe, Darien will remain in the past to track criminals, using a special weapon, known as a PPT, to send them back to the future.\n\nBack in 1993, Darien meets a woman, Annie Knox (MIA SARA), who looks exactly like Elissa. Soon, Darien verifies that Dietrich is also living in the year 1993. He discovers that Dietrich plans on assassinating the President of the United States. Dietrich is aided and abetted by a gang of criminals, all from the 22nd century, transported back to the 1990s by Sahmbi.\n\nDarien tries to stop Dietrich, but the Secret Service think Darien is the assassin. Darien learns that Annie, a government agent, reported him to the Secret Service, believing this to be true. They arrest Darien. He escapes and stops the assassination attempt, sending Dietrich and another fugitive back to the future. For now, Annie becomes Darien's ally. The others do not know his real name and believe him to be dead. Darien and Selma then begin the job of finding the other fugitives.
