Otto "TV a Cabo" video
Ottos personal path is inextricably intertwined with the history of mangue-beat. Before revealing the full extent of his talents as a composer on his album Samba pra Burro, the artist from Pernambuco was a percussionist for the two pioneering bands Mundo Livre S/A and Nação Zumbi in Recifes mangue-beat movement. In 1998, he began his solo career with the award winning Samba pra Burro, considered a major turning point in Brazilian popular music for its use of electronic music, which would later become a craze. His follow-up Condom Black", a more acoustic and percussive album, was applauded by both critics and public. In 2003, he released the inspired Sem Gravidade, concluding his musical trilogy and showcasing guests such as Rita Lee, B-Negão and Max de Castro.

Wilson Simoninha has always lived in a musical environment. He started his career as a child, playing on records and concerts for children. As a teenager, he studied music and harmony on his way to becoming a professional musician, producer and singer. He has worked with Jorge Benjor as a producer and also as a keyboardist. In 2000, Simoninha released his acclaimed first album Volume 2. In 2002, he released "Sambaland Club" and began an European tour. The tour was so successful that Simoninha went to work on an album recorded live in the studio, aimed especially at the international market, called "Introducing Wilson Simoninha Live Sessions at Trama Studios". Later, this album was released in Brazil. In 2005, he paid homage to Jorge Benjor on the DVD/TV program MTV presents: Simoninha sings Jorge Benjor.
