World Of Stupid

What with the beaches and the girls and the football, you'd think there'd be enough distractions in Brazil to stop young men from hurting themselves for fun, but no, these boys love it too. We spend a weekend hanging out with the boys from NOIA as they skate into things and throw themselves about with their trousers round their ankles, and then take a trip to the beach to see them meet up with their stupid friends, Jucascu.

These guys can really snowboard, and it shows in the videos they produce. However pulling off amazing tricks on snow is not nearly stupid enough for them, and they spice up their films by showing that they're equally good at falling over, jumping off high things into not-very-soft things, being very drunk indeed and jumping off enormous cliffs on kiddy sledges.

These boys and girls do their show on MTV Asia entirely for their own amusement. It's not as if they need the work. Each member of this multi-faceted team was doing quite nicely already before Chiseen came into being. They include Daniel Wu, Asia's answer to Brad Pit, the captain of the Chinese windsurfing team, the business editor of the Economist, and several top fashion models. Luckily for us, they spend their spare time going down escalators in oversized woks and putting wasabe in their eyes.

These guys have style. In fact they have two. One half of the crew is all-breaking, all-rapping, all-scratching and about as hip hop as you can get, and the other half likes wearing black, playing very distorted guitars and screaming pure hate down a microphone. The FNC are a bunch of skaters whose hatred for cardboard boxes knows no bounds and who will happily fling themselves off just about anything in order to crush them. An enjoyable weekend of dangerous stupidity and ?Fete de la musique? concerts.

Three bored young men from a very boring place indeed decided to entertain themselves by making DVDs involving the bizarre use of household objects - in ways the manufacturers never intended. Two DVDs later, they're still super-gluing themselves to signposts, stapling their ears to their heads and running scalextrix cars into their scrota. We spend a weekend with them as they attempt some new stunts for their upcoming DVD, many of which end in abject but amusing failure.
